Being Rich is Your Birthright!

The other night I was reading an Essay by Ralph Waldo Emerson called Wealth. Emerson, arguably the greatest American Philosopher, essayist and poet of the nineteenth century had this to say about our right as humans to be wealthy.

“Every man is a consumer, and ought to be a producer. He fails to make his place good in the world, unless he not only pays his debt, but also adds something to the common wealth. Nor can he do justice to his genius, without making some larger demand on the world than a bare subsistence. He is by constitution expensive, and needs to be rich. Man was born to be rich, or, inevitably grows rich by the use of his faculties; by the union of thought with nature. Property is an intellectual production. The game requires coolness, right reasoning, promptness, and patience in the players.”

Emerson wants us to be productive. He knows that consumer mentality is not getting us any closer to financial independence. Furthermore, he talks about the interconnectedness of humanity. We’ve got to get rich to be sure but it will certainly not be as fulfilling as if we helped others to do the same.

What he also believes is that genius resides in each and every one us regardless of our age, race, gender, etc. So, if you think you are not a genius it only means you have yet to discover where your genius lies and nothing else. And as a genius you deserve a heck of a lot more than just the basic necessities in life.

When he says we’re expensive by constitution, he really means that our very essence is valuable beyond measure and as such we need to get rich and stay that way. He further explains that being rich is our God given ability, our birthright. We’re all meant to live in abundance and enjoy a high level of havingness. He tells us the secret to be rich is the merging of thought with nature. In other words we can get rich when we apply our powerful thoughts to the world around us while maintaining our composure, effectiveness, speed and persistence.

So, there you have it from one of the most influential thinkers in history. When Emerson says your legacy is to be wealthy, I take notice and go about doing what he suggests to gain my financial freedom. The good news is that circumstances are just perfect for you to claim what’s truly yours, getting wealthy in the next few years. On a personal note, real estate is the best game in town because of its potential to get you where you need to go in the shortest period of time.

I look forward to seeing you and at our next meeting this month. It might be a good idea to bring your friends and forward this email to them as well.

Best regards,
