Best Places to Invest in Real Estate in 2008

A national report on the best places to invest in real estate based on their potential for a price decline was just produced by the PMI Group. The report identifies the safest markets (most of Texas; Charlotte, NC; Kansas City, MO & Pittsburgh, PA) as safe areas and surprise, surprise, the riskiest markets as Florida, Arizon, Nevada, and California.[googmonify]4494413162:right:250:250[/googmonify]

So what is an investor to do? Buy and hold investors would do well to buy in the first group and more aggressive investors should focus on the declining markets according to this article by Kenneth Harney.

I have been investing in Texas since 2004, and am now entirely focused on the opportunities in California. I see some incredible opportunities for distressed market investors that are now starting to become available.

Whether you are a ‘buy and hold’ or a ‘distressed market investor’ there are opportunities out there. At the National Club of Real Estate Investors (NCREI’s) meeting in Van Nuys, Tuesday night (January 22, 2008) I will identify several opportunities in both types of markets that will give you a jumpstart on your 2008 investments. I am looking forward to seeing you at the meeting.
