How Much Education is Enough Education?
In the words of Alfred Lord Tennyson in his famous poem written sometime in the middle of the nineteenth century, “I hold it true, what’er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; ‘Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.”
To me, Tennyson could’ve just as easily written this poem about the importance of taking action in life. So, I rewrite this poem, with his permission, ‘Tis better to have acted and fallen than never to have acted at all.
The single most significant reason people never realize their true potential in life is in their inability to take action. More often than not, this inability stems from fear of failure. I’m amazed how most people are seeking security in this thing we call human existence. Too many people are thinking of security instead of opportunity. They seem to be more afraid of life than death!
My grandpa used to tell me that if I truly want to feel the essence of life, I need to act upon my thoughts. God bless his soul. He truly lived his life to the max. When he passed on at the age of 94 he was as lively as ever. His eyes were gleaming with joy every day. He walked his talk and left an incredible legacy for his family and friends.
You can contemplate all you want but nothing great will ever come out of it. It’s better to act and “fail” than never have acted in the first place because there are no failures in life, only results. Yes, I know some results seem to be worse than no results but the Universe will only reward those who are not afraid to act. The only caveat here is to act with knowledge and not out of ignorance.
So, I’d like to encourage you all to gain the knowledge, network all you can and finally make a decision to act. Start with one small property and learn the ropes. You’ll learn so much more in one real life experience than years of going to seminars and boot camps. If you’re afraid to act period, then save yourself the time and money involved attending all these educational venues!
I look forward to seeing you at our next event on September 22nd, when Brice Norris will share with us the secrets of becoming financially independent. After you learn the basics make a commitment to take action no matter how small.
