Life is not a mechanical process; it cannot be certain. It is inevitably an unpredictable mystery. Nobody knows what is going to happen in the next moment, let alone in the next year, but this is a good thing. If we always knew what was going to happen, life would be unbearable. Without uncertainty there is no freedom, and no choice. Without uncertainty there is no possibility for growth and change. If everything were predestined, then there would be no chance at glory, no chance at grandeur. We would be no more than robots!
